One of my favorite and first yoga teacher, Holly Briscoe, often asks us this very poignant question …
“Do we have any cranky parts today?”
I chuckle because many people in the class, including me, will shout out what physical area of the body is feeling cranky. (You agree, it’s nice to be reminded we’re not alone?.)
Plus, I love the word cranky because it totally describes what it feels like when energy is either blocked, stagnant or even too much in one area.
Of course recently my left shoulder was cranky.
Naturally like many, getting relief on my physical body was on the forefront of my mind.
Now, having just returned from a shoulder massage to address the physical, I actually do feel less tight, less achy and tense.
Yet at the moment, I am at this place where either…
- I tear open a bag of chips, start dipping into humus and crunching out my crankies or
- Tune in acknowledge and release the layers of emotional, mental, and spiritual energetic goo.
As a sharer and lover of knowledge, inspiration and emotional writing… my intention is this inner expressive exploration is to clear a path and be in service to your self-discovery, release and mastery when the time comes.
Even before I begin, I am aware, I may or may not go after that bag of chips later… though perhaps not as voraciously as my hunger to illuminate a different path for myself and others is stronger.
That cranky left shoulder… time to dig in and release the rest of the layers.
I acknowledge I’ve been feeling over burdened by the deluge of phone calls, paperwork and stress of having our personal information and credit card information stolen… shouldering the responsibility and carrying it all without joy.
Frustrated with the pattern I see in myself jumping in to take care of the detailed tasks, and angry at my husband for not doing more to help.
And fear… will I ever break free from the pattern?
Tension is often created by who you think you should be and what you believe.
And yes I’ve been fighting (on the inside) through this process with thoughts about my identity… who I’ve been, who I’m becoming and and where I regretted giving up my identity in the past.
It’s sluggish and sticky. No wonder it was feeling cranked up.
I’m so thankful I have my ESRM (Energy System Reboot® Method) and ThetaHealing® techniques to identify clear and replace those ingrained in my DNA beliefs.
My ESRM Strategy:
As a cyclical process applied in this real life situation, it continues to unfold and looks something like this:
I humbly acknowledge the complexity of this deep issue in my tissues, forgive and appreciate the soul lessons as I move forward, reclaiming my joy and choosing who I really am.
Reaching inward with awareness I begin…
- Breathe in light;
- Exhale heaviness;
- And notice what shifts.
When it happened to me, a quick burst of healing tears poured through and then “I got it…” as the congestion of heat began to leave my body through the right rib-cage and my left shoulder softened even more.
“I’m okay and ready.”
I choose to love myself as I am (the light), and let go of the fear of who I thought I should be (the heaviness).
I accept and appreciate who I am right now.
Remember… who you are is ever-changing and expanding; yet your ego-mind wants to hold on to believing what it already knows to be true even if it’s false pretense.
So go ahead and consciously breath in anew. Use this mantra or create your own that feels better for you.
Either way, invite in a new love and appreciation for who you are today, as you let go of who you expect yourself to be.
Energy always fluctuates, and so can you.
Let’s celebrate the real truth of who you are.
